CMAT Entrance Exam 1.

These exams are conducted twice a year, once in February and the other one in September.


Eligibility:-


A graduate in any discipline or final year students of graduate courses can apply for the CMAT Exam.


For Management Programs (MBA, PGDM, PGCM etc.), a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 50% marks is required (45% if the student is from a reserved category).


For an Executive Management Program, a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 50% marks is required (45% if the student is from a reserved category) and a minimum of 5 years of work experience in a supervisory or a managerial role is required.


Test Pattern and Duration:-


The type of questions that will be asked under the CMAT Entrance Exam can be classified as follows.


  • Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation: This section tests the candidate on the ability of interpreting data, accuracy, speed and the ability to crunch numbers
  • Logical Reasoning: A passage is given to the candidate with instructions and questions based on the passage are asked.
  • Language Comprehension: Under this section, the candidate will be tested on English language passage based questions, words or phrases based questions, fill in the blanks, idioms, knowledge of synonyms and antonyms etc.
  • General Awareness: A candidate should be aware of what is happening in the world around him/her.

There will be 25 questions in each category with a maximum of 100 marks. 4 marks are given for every correct answer. There is negative marking in this exam. 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. The duration of the exam is 180 minutes. The expected time of completion per section is 45 minutes. A candidate can move back and forth between sections. There are no breaks during the test.


Important Dates for the CMAT Entrance Exam September 2014:-


  • Registrations opened on July 03, 2014.
  • The last date for registrations is August 25, 2014
  • Date of downloading the Admit Card is September 12, 2014
  • Dates of the exam are from September 25, 2014 – September 29, 2014
  • The results will be announced on October 30, 2014
  • Score cards will be printed from October 30, 2014 – November 30, 2014

The candidate has a choice of selecting the dates (3 options) and the cities (3 options) on a first-come first-serve basis.


Exam Format:-


The CMAT Entrance Exam is a computer based test, where the candidate reads the question on the computer terminal and chooses the right answer, by clicking on the given options.
